Sharing My Favorite Poem – The Horse
Posted by LeeAnn on June 29th, 2009 at 01:02pm
This poem was written by an anonymous author. It has stuck in my heart for more than 36 years. It speaks to me about the service horses provide so generously.
The Horse
When horses accepted the burden,
Of treading narrow human paths,
And took the royal oath to serve,
The Angels whispered low together,
Oh that man learn from their charity,
Their courage, kindness and loyalty,
They shall learn the language of horses
Is known the world wide over,
And knows no exceptions,
For this is one of God’s noblest creatures.
When I pause to think of the service all the horses I have known have given to me, I know I am humbled by their willingness to show up and be present.
This is a very brief blog today as I want to simply take a moment to honor our horse partners and the gift they are in our lives!
Happy trails,
The Divine Cowgirl
Under Horse
