A Season of LIGHT

As I took a call from a very frazzled girlfriend on Sunday; and began by reminding her to breathe; I was struck by the depth of misery we humans can create for ourselves when we don’t remember the reason for the season.
So many unconscious expectations placed on a day, a dinner, or a short time with family and friends. In my girlfriend’s case, a tradition needs to be released in order to meet the needs of those coming Christmas Eve. The wants of the adults replaced by the needs of several small children, and instead of struggling to fit old patterns into new circumstances; letting the new arise out of the old.
What is the essence, the feeling, of what you want to create and participate with this holiday season? Do you want to gift someone with your attention or are you concerned with the form of the event?
For me this season is about remembering the light; the L.I.G.H.T.
L = Love – the unconditional kind
I = Inspiration and Imagination
G= Generosity, Gratitude and Gentleness (with ourselves and others)
H= hospitality, humor and humility
T= Thankfulness and Thoughtfulness
It is my intention to BE those qualities this week and throughout this season. How about you? Will you join me in Being the Light?
May you find love and laughter in whatever the holidays brings to you.
May you know joy and inspiration with family and friends.
May the light sustain you.

May the New Year unfold amazing Soulful adventures!
