What’s Waiting to be Born?

In the Christian faith, Christmas means celebrating the birth of Christ. Christ represents bringing forth light in the world. Every December we have the opportunity to bring forth more light into our circle of influence. The light we have within is our way of being in the world.
We express ourselves everyday in word, action, and deed – both consciously and unconsciously. Our expression is a mirror of the light we allow ourselves to experience internally. We treat the outer world as we treat ourselves.
I know that the more light I feel within the more I am able to share with others. When there is an abundance of light within me I am able to share with others from my reserves, the overflow, so as to not feel drained after sharing. I can smile and meet the eyes of the cashier, I have more patience waiting in line, and I increase my ability to look for opportunities for service. I am able to share from a place of being gentle and compassionate instead of being miserly or chintzy.
Living from the light within brings possibilities. It requires we birth and nurture a way of being. For me, it requires I ask daily – “how may I serve or what can I give today?” rather than “what can I get today?”
As you think of this season of light, what will you give birth to? What, within you, wants to be expressed? What is calling you?
It is my sincere desire to both be more light and bring more light to the life I am called to.
May you and your family be blessed this holiday and in the year to come!

I think our light could be tied more to our journey (or our souls journey) what must we learn in this lifetime? I believe we were punched out of the mold with certain characteristics that fit His (the greater) purpose and its our job to watch for the ques that lead us in the direction in which we should go. I know we all have a different journey and though some of us have connected in real life not all of our connections are ongoing or sustainable ones. I have this saying, kind of ties back to the 60′s I guess, everyone is on their own trip!

Yes, our light is tied to our journey and we can brighten our light by attending to it. We can choose to consciously bring light to situations or we can dampen the light by our mis-perceptions that are in front of us. It is a choice to show up fully in connection to our heart – Going inward is part of the journey..
Thanks for your comment Kathy! Many blessings in this season of Joy!

Lovely.
I always get in a funk this time of year. For me, it’s too easy to see the abundance of consumption rather than the giving.
I like your reminder to focus on the light — being it and giving it.
