Signs of Growth

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
Anais Nin

I suppose a flower never considers the risk it takes in answering the call of spring.  I sometimes wonder if “it” even considers life a struggle.  We humans do.  In fact we guard against growth for the purpose of staving off the possibility of disappointment, or hurt or any number of other scary emotions.

I love the early spring flowers and can’t wait until the Crocuses peek out of the ground.  They are a sign of hope to me.  They have no idea if they will be met with frost, snow, or drought; they simply give it their all and grow towards the light.

These past couple of months have been a time of reflection for me.  I am being called to grow, to be more authentic and far more transparent.  As a cowgirl I have had a few spills and the last few have left me a bit cautious – too cautious.  So I have stopped and really taken time to get down to the nitty gritty with myself.  (Sometimes I just have to have a little talk with myself) And I said self, “Life has indeed handed you a few curve balls, are you going to get up, dust off or are you taking up residence in the dirt?”  It seems the answer is… while having a few more dents; it’s time to partner with Audacity and get back in the adventure.

How is your relationship with Audacity?  Have you met her?  Do you enjoy her?  I discovered her lineage; she comes from Daring.  And I have noticed she keeps company with Boldness, Confidence, Shameless, Nerve, Spunk, Grit, Temerity and Impertinence.  Sometimes her friends intimidate me until I remember I need their company and support if I am to grow into all I can be and whom I am called to be.

I invite you to get to know Audacity and her friends.  Cowgirls need to be in the inner circle of this group if we are to bring our dreams, our full selves and our gifts, to the greater community at this time.  Is it your turn to blossom?

Happy trails,

I’m not sure how impertnance and temerity tie into respectful, heart felt connection with others. Could you elaborate on this?

Thank you for your question. Heartfelt connection to self and one’s path sometimes requires audacity, boldness and a bit of irrelevance. In this post, I am speaking to the courage it takes to bring forth your own authentic dream. I am also speaking to letting go of what other’s think and even sometimes feel about your own true journey.

Connection begins with the one to self. Heartfelt connection to self. From that connection, of being with all that is including boldness – such as exuberance displayed with a horse is all part of the delight of relationship. I have loved the moments that impertinence has shown up in relationships. I have loved the growth that it has spurred!

    Be well!
